St. Andrew Avellino Church in Flushing recently was presented with a bronze plaque as part of the Broadway-Flushing area, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Broadway-Flushing Homeowners Association led the drive for the historic designation and encourage members to display similar plaque on their homes.

The presentation was made at the church’s annual dinner dance. Shown are Maria Becce, coordinator of the plaque program, left; Joseph Brostek, member of the church’s Centennial Committee; Father Joseph Holcomb; and Janet McCreesh civic president.
