Last week the BFHA held their May General Membership Meeting at St Andrew Avellino Catholic Academy. It was a lively and informative meeting highlighted by the awarding of our annual garden awards where five homes were recognized for their contribution to the beauty of Broadway Flushing.
President George Zbravos welcomed attendees while Zoning chair Janet McCreesh and Treasurer Maria Becce gave their reports and outgoing board member Secretary Erin Carozzo read the minutes of our last meeting. A vote was held and approved to amend the organization’s constitution to allow George to serve a fourth year as president.
We welcomed representatives of the MTA including Deputy Inspector Lampasona to address the situation of safety at the Broadway train station.
Maria Becce updated the members in the status of the proposed 10 story building on 158 St and Northern Blvd which is currently going through the review process and urged all members to voice their opinion.
The evening ended with members mingling and enjoying light refreshments.
