Independence Day Fireworks Show & Concert

Council Member Vallone and the Bayside Historical Society proudly announce the Independence Day Fireworks Show & Concert Event set for tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1st at Fort Totten. Word of this first annual event, sponsored by Council Member Vallone’s office and hosted by the Bayside Historical Society, has spread quickly throughout Northeast Queens and is expected to draw thousands to celebrate a night of fireworks and family fun.

On July 1st, admittance to Fort Totten will begin at 5pm, and the event will feature performances from the MichelleMarie RockBand Camp and Phil Costa & Something Special Band. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and picnic related items to the event. Vending trucks will be on site with a variety of foods, snacks and beverages including roasted corn, fresh lemonade, funnel cakes and corn dogs. The fifteen minute fireworks show, visible as far as the Bronx, will begin promptly at9:15pm.

This is a non-alcohol event. All bags, coolers, backpacks, etc. will be inspected before entering the park. Parking will be available at the Little Bay Parking Lot and along Bell Boulevard west of Fort Totten with additional parking at the Clearview Golf Course (beginning at 5pm) and the Bay Terrace Shopping Center. Shuttles provided by Vallo Transportation will bring guests to and from the offsite parking locations. Due to the number of people expected to attend, guests are encouraged to bike, walk or bus to the event.
